There are more than 130 active student clubs and organizations at Carthage, and they all provide great ways for students to form friendships, get involved in issues they’re passionate about, or simply have fun. And new orgs are created every semester!

Here’s a look at just a few of students’ favorite clubs on campus!

Blitz Ultimate Frisbee Club

Were you a high school athlete who didn’t continue competing in college? Maybe you’ve never played a sport before, and you’re looking to expand your horizons! Ultimate Frisbee is a growing international sport with a dedicated community and plenty of room to become the above-average athlete you know you can be. Blitz is a co-ed club for the USA Ultimate organization, and competition is held up to a national level depending on how far you’re willing to take it. Whether you’re looking for a way to stay active, looking for competition, or just looking for a new hobby, joining Blitz is the way to do it all!

“ I joined Blitz last year as a freshman, and it was one of the best decisions I made here. Growing up, I played various sports, and I wanted to try a somewhat new sport. The team was very welcoming, and I came to find out a couple of my teammates were from the same area as me. I enjoy the family dynamic we have as a team”Jose Antonio Lule ’26

Carthage Activities Board

Carthage Activities Board (CAB) is one of the largest student organizations on campus. CAB selects, plans, promotes, and produces fun and entertaining campus events every week! CAB is one of the best ways to get involved at Carthage. When you join CAB, you will get to decide on what events are brought to campus, and you get to then be a part of all of the planning and hosting of each event too. And let us not forget about all of the friendships made along the way.

“I love CAB because it has given me opportunities I would have never gotten, such as seeing my first live Broadway musical, “Dear Evan Hansen,” in pit seats for only $10! Also, I saw the Milwaukee Admirals game and a Scotty McCreery concert on ice; the night also included a reserved food table just for Carthage. CAB has also helped me improve my planning, leadership, and time management skills.” — Kelly Sibert ’25

Carthage Book Club

Do you love to read? Do you wish you had more bookish friends? Do you ever read a book and wish for nothing more than to talk about that book with someone else who’s read it? The Carthage Book Club is for you! We read books that you vote for, so come and propose a book idea! The club is for anyone and everyone who wants to share their love of reading with someone else on campus.

“I have always loved reading, and Book Club gives me a community of people to talk to about what I am reading. It also pushes me to read for fun, which is nice because it can be hard to find time to do that with classes and homework.” — Emily Van Dixhorn ’26

Martial Arts Club

Martial Arts Club focuses on introducing and appreciating martial arts such as taekwondo, aikido, tai chi, and more. We are student-run and teach and learn to the best of our ability. This club primarily focuses on self-defense, technique, and having fun! It’s a nice way to get a different type of workout while relieving stress.

“I am the vice president of the Martial Arts Club here at Carthage, which has been a great experience. It has been incredible to watch the club grow, from the first few classes with only a handful of students to now what is almost the size of an average class here at Carthage. I am so proud of the e-board and everyone who turns up each week — seeing their growth and progress is awesome to watch, and we have all grown so close.”Maya Zenner ’25
